Early Life

Eboni K. Williams was born Eboni Kiuhnna Williams on September 9, 1983, in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was raised by her single mother, who worked as a bus driver. After finishing high school, she received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications and African American studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Eboni later went on to law school and obtained her J.D. degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. While she was a law student, she clerked for the Louisiana Secretary of State and the Louisiana Attorney General's office. She also assisted New Orleans council members in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Career

Williams began her legal career by providing legal counsel in family law and civil litigation in 2008. She also worked as a public defender before returning to private practice in 2010. During this time, she provided representation for clients in homicide, rape, drug, sex crime, and federal offense cases. After years as a practicing attorney, Eboni decided she wanted to pursue a career in broadcast journalism.

In 2014, Williams was hired by CBS News as a correspondent. She covered daily news with a specific focus on legal issues, though also covered broader news stories as well. She remained in the position for one year before she was hired by Fox News as an anchor and legal and political analyst in 2015. In this role, Eboni was featured on some of the network's most popular shows at the time, like "The O'Reilly Factor" and "Hannity." She was often featured on segments that required legal analysis and was sometimes asked to be on the Fox Business Network as well.

In 2017, Williams joined a new show on Fox News called "Fox News Specialists" as a co-host, making her the first Black woman to co-host a prime-time cable news show.
